Our mission is to empower serious basketball athletes of all levels by providing them with the tools, knowledge, and support needed to reach their full potential on and off the court.
About Coach Kissi
Charles Kissi is a talented basketball coach known for his strategic acumen and player development skills. Kissi’s passion for basketball emerged at an early age.
After his playing career at McMaster University, Kissi transitioned into coaching, where he quickly made a name for himself at the grassroots level, coaching, successful teams for the Scarborough blues. Assisting young players and earning scholarships to both the United States, as well as in Canada .
Kissi then guided Brock University back to national prominence as the head coach of men’s basketball from 2013 to 2018 , highlighted by a national tournament appearance. Kissi won over 100 games in five years while rebuilding the program.
In 2019 he left to join the Raptors 905, coaching players such as Chris Boucher and Jordan Loyd. He was a part of the organization as the Toronto Raptors won their first ever NBA championship. He served as an assistant coach of both the Fort Wayne MadAnts as the team set a record for the most NBA call ups in team history.
His coaching journey had taken him to the professional level, where he gained valuable experience and further developed his coaching philosophy. Learning from coaches such as Jama Mahlalela (two time NBA champion and current Toronto Raptors assistant). Nick Nurse (NBA champion, former Toronto Raptors head coach and current Philadelphia 76ers head coach and Dwane Casey(former Toronto Raptors and Detroit Pistons head coach and Tom Hankins head coach of the Indiana Mad Ants .
Kissi spent four seasons as the head coach and general manager of the GUELPH nighthawks in the CEBL assisting in the development of players such as AJ Lawson current Toronto Raptors two way and former Dallas Maverick who played in the NBA finals in 2023.
Kissi is especially noted for his ability to connect with players, emphasizing teamwork, discipline, and a strong work ethic. His dedication to fostering young talent has earned him respect within the basketball community. As he continues to influence the game, Kissi remains committed to promoting basketball in Canada and inspiring the next generation of players and coaches.
Career Timeline
McMaster
2000 - 2003


For McMaster Charles Kissi emerged as a leader on the McMaster team in only his third year. He was named as cocaptain for that season. He was presented with the most improved player award after his work, saw him become a key member of the rotation.
Scarborough Blues
2006-2010


For Scarborough Blues , Charles Won a national championship and provincial Silver. He helped to develop a number of players including Wumi Agunbiade, Hoopers Loop founder, who received the scholarship to Duquesne university and was part of our national team programs.
TMU
2010-2012


For TMU Charles help propel the women’s program into OUA prominence.
Raptors Apprenticeship
2013


Coach Kissi became the Toronto Raptors first ever apprentice coach learning all aspects of professional basketball through coaching mentor Dwane Casey.
Brock
2013-2018
